Air India worker dupes UP hotel of Rs 6 lakh
New Delhi: An employee of Air India has allegedly dup-ed a hotel at Vrindavan in UP to the tune of Rs 6 lakh and cheated it by providing a bogus house address and telephone number. The suspect on the pretext of working in a tour and travel company approached the complainant and charg-ed an exorbitant amount for booking tickets. The matter came to light wh-en the aggrieved party learnt about the ticket amount and asked him to return the money.
The complainant Brijesh M. Pandit, manager at Hotel Kridha Residency, Vrindavan, UP, filed a complaint against Sunil Bhardwaj, who claimed to be the resident of Mayur Vihar Phase-1, Delhi.
Mr Pandit wrote in his complaint: Mr Sunil Bharadwaj stayed in our hotel from October 5 to 6, 2017. During his stay at the hotel, the accused requested us that he was in dire need of money and assured us that he would return the amount after some time. As, Mr Bharadwaj was known to our chairman, we gave him Rs 2.1 lakh.
He assured us that the amount would be repaid by October 9. However, we did not get our money back.
The police has filed a case against the accused and a probe is underway. investigating the matter Since then, we have contacted him several times through telephonic calls, SMSs and Emails, but he has not paid our money back as promised. Now, it has come to notice that he is not residing at Mayur Vihar Phase-I, Delhi. He is working as senior supervisor at Air India, but has not been attending his office for the last one month. Satellite Travels & Tours is not based in Greater Kailash either. All the cheques issued by him have been dishonoured.
Meanwhile, the police filed a case against the accused and investigating the matter.
