Cong asks CM to resign, wants CBI inquiry initiated
New Delhi: After sharing the crux of the 101 page Shunglu Panel report, Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken on Thursday asked chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to resign from his post and demanded the Centre initiate a CBI probe into the panel’s report.
The Congress accused Mr Kejriwal for of nepotism — an issue which the AAP had raked up before the Assembly polls.
Mr Maken demanded that an inquiry should be laun-ched to probe the matter on the basis of the findings of the Shunglu Committee report. “If Arvind Kejriwal has any conscience left then he should immediately resign from the chief minister’s post,” Mr Maken said.
“An inquiry should be launched in this connection. Mr Kejriwal has no right to be on the post during the investigation,” he said.
Categorising the Shunglu report into three categories, the Congress leader, who claimed that he got the report through an RTI plea, accused the Kejriwal-led government of corruption, nepotism and misuse of public money for “unsanctioned” foreign tours of AAP leaders.
Referring to the report, he questioned appointment of health minister Satyendar Jain’s daughter as mission director of Delhi State Health Mission.
The Delhi Congress president alleged the state government appointed AAP functionaries on Delhi Dia-logue Commission and as advisors to ministers, alle-gedly paying hefty salaries ranging from '80,000 to '1.5 lakh through the public exchequer.
Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken adeded that the AAP government had allowed the BJP-ruled MCDs to levy property tax on unauthorised colonies after the civic bodies approached it.
