New Delhi: A 21-year-old aspiring air hostess, who was stabbed multiple times in full public view, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday. Her family, however, blamed the police for inaction, saying the incident could have been prevented had the police taken timely action on her earlier ha-rassment compliant aga-inst the accused.

Riya Gautam alias Charu, a resident of Ramnagar area in Mansarovar Park, was stabbed eight times near her house on a busy street. She was rushed to GTB Hospital in a critical state, where she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday morning.

The alleged attacker, Adil, is still at large. The police said the footage of the assault confirmed his role.

The victim had made a police compliant against Adil in April. Acting on her compliant, the police had raided Adil’s house, but he left for Ahmedabad.

His family also relocated to a new house in a nearby area.
