CM Arvind Kejriwal accused of stalling Metro work
New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Saturday accused Arvind Kejriwal government that files relating to acceptance of financial commitment for Delhi Metro-phase IV since October 2014. Mr Gupta further accused Kejriwal government for not accepting file relating to purchase of additional coaches for Delhi Metro since June 2016 and file of Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System has been stalled since December 2016. Mr Gupta alleged that Kejriwal government wants to derail pace of development by hatching conspiracy to stall Metro projects.
Mr Gupta announced that he will raise the issue in the assembly on Monday.
“Kejriwal government is not only sitting on files relating to acceptance of financial commitment for fourth phase of Delhi Metro, but is also deliberately delaying the decision to purchase additional coaches for Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro had, at the instance of Delhi government, submitted a Detailed Project Report in June 2016 to buy 916 more coaches,” he said.
“But Delhi government did not respond,” said Mr Gupta.
