Murder witness gets death threats
New Delhi: A public witness in a murder case has reportedly been receiving death threats from the accused during the past two months. He is a witness in a murder that took place in Vasant Vihar in 2010.
The witness alleged that the murder accused were calling him and asking to step down or face dire consequences. The accused told him that the murder was committed due to animosity in which the witness was not involved so he should keep out of it.
He further said that he was getting threats from March 23 but the Lajpat Nagar police registered the case on Sunday. According to the police, in Vasant Vihar area, one Bindar was murdered in 2010 due to some personal animosity and because of this matter the witness is getting threats. However, the police has registered a case and investigation has been initiated.
The caller told the witness to deny his past statements which he informed the police and said he will not make false statements in court upon which the caller got angry and threatened him that he would also face the same fate which the deceased faced.
The hearing for the murder case will be held on Tuesday May 8.
