Cops claim to solve culpable homicide, two robbers arrested

New Delhi: With the arrest of two accused, the Delhi police has claimed to solve a robbery and culpable homicide case, said the police on Thursday.

The arrested accused were identified as, Vinay Kumar (32) and Lilu Pal (32) who were arrested from New Delhi Railway Station.

According to the police, they had received a call on May 30th about a suspected robbery in DB Gupta road area. After reaching there, a middle-aged woman was found lying in a pool of blood. She was soon sent to hospital but was declared dead on arrival. On further search the door of the first floor of the bungalow was found ajar. The police team simultaneously discovered a tied man on the second floor. After untying him he led the team on the first floor where an old man was found injured.

The injured Avinash Chander Bhalla (78) told the police that he is the owner of the house and had been living with his wife Bulbul Bhalla. The tied man was identified as Hariram who had been a servant there for nearly 30 years. Geeta whose body was discovered was the housemaid, said the police.

Mr. Bhalla told the police that the crime took place after his wife and daughter who had come to visit him had left for work. Four men barged into the house and two them whipped out country made pistols. They had ransacked the house in search of valuables and brutally beat him.
