The station is in close proximity to Connaught Place, New Delhi Railway Station, Janpath and is accessible by road from New Delhi. The said area has prominent and spacious frontage and captive commuter base.

The said area, owing to its strategic location, shall present a unique opportunity for office space, retail players and business houses among others.

“The Airport Express Line is in for profit-making process and with such initiative, it will certainly earn more revenue by its non-operational resources,” said the official.

The corporation’s Airport Express Line had recorded about 30 per cent rise in its ridership, following the fare reduction by 40 per cent in July 2014.

The corporation has also taken a slew of measures in a bid to attract commuters to the line, operations of which it took over from Reliance Infrastructure in July 2013, the DMRC officials said.

The Delhi Airport Metro Express Line is a Delhi Metro line from New Delhi Metro station to Dwarka Sector-21, linking the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, domestic airport, Dhaula Kaun, Shivaji Stadium and the like.
