BJP vistaraks' to strengthen party in capital
New Delhi: On the lines of the RSS “pracharaks”, Delhi BJP will form its team of “vistaraks” in the national capital to strengthen its ground. Nearly 3,000 vistaraks will cover 13,000 polling booths in the city and add 1.5 lakh new members to the party. The 15-day programme will start on June 23.
The BJP national general secretary, Arun Singh, camped for two days in the city in this regard, and held discussions with the state office bearers and party cadres.
The BJP national vice- president and Delhi unit in-charge, Shyam Jaju, told this newspaper that in the “vistarak” programme, BJP workers who have dedicated 15 days for party-related works keeping aside their other works, will reach out to the people at each of the polling booths of the city.
“Our party president Amit Shah has already started meeting booth workers and the people. Now Delhi BJP workers will do the same during the 15-day programme,” added Mr Jaju. As per plan, the 3,000 vistaraks will be assigned a specific area comprising four polling booths. They will reach out to each household with the local unit enrolling 50 new members for the party.
“Our vistaraks will explain the party ideology, speak about the life of Deen Dayal Upadhyay and the work done by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre in three years. In other words, they will be reaching out to the people as the representative of Prime Minister Modi and also take feedback from citizens,” said Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari.
All the vistaraks will be trained before the start of programme and will be given a kit containing literature on the party and its ideologue Mr Upadhyay, achievements of the Modi government, and its people oriented schemes.
“At the end of the programme, these vistaraks will submit their reports about the party activities at the ground and the list of 50 new members with their details like their address and mobile number,” added Mr Tiwari, clarifying that the party will check that the vistaraks must enrol new members using technology.
Claiming it a unique initiative, Mr Jaju said that no other party thinks about the organisation and the voters while in power.
“Despite being in power with a huge public support, BJP president Mr Shah is meeting booth workers and people across the country. However, other parties neglect the organisation and the people when they were in power,” the Delhi BJP in-charge added.
