2 burglars held in East of Kailash

During frisking some house breaking tools and a snatched mobile phone were also recovered from them.

New Delhi: Police busted a gang of burglars and arrested two accused while they were roaming in the area on a stolen two wheeler.

The duo used to do reccee in the morning and commit crime in the night in southeast Delhi and were involved in 20 cases, said DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal on Saturday.

In the view of recent incidents of burglary and house theft, a special team was assigned to track and nab the culprits.

The team arrested Ajaya (25), and Sonu Mulla (25), and cracked a dozen cases of vehicle theft, burglary and snatching, Biswal said.

Following a tip off a trap was laid near East of Kailash.

During checking two suspects riding a motorcycle were apprehended who failed to produce any document about the ownership of the vehicle. Later it was found stolen.

Duo were well acquainted with the topography of the area and before committing the crime they used to thoroughly conduct reckee about entry and exit points of target houses in posh areas of southeast Delhi.

They used to sell the stolen items to junk-dealers as well as to passers by.
