Man shot over property row in south-west Delhi
New Delhi: A man sustained a bullet injury on his arm after two bike-borne men allegedly fired at him in a running car in South west Delhi’s Chhawala area on Monday morning. He was rushed to a hospital in Gurgaon.
According to the police, the 34-year-old victim, identified as Chander Prakash, was shot while he was travelling by his car to attend a civil matter in a Gurgaon court from west Delhi over a property dispute. The incident said to have taken place at around 8 am, the police said.
Mr. Prakash, a resident of Najafgarh, was stopped by the assailants near Nanakheri village in Chhawla after they gestured that his car had a puncture.
“When Mr Prakash parked his car and stepped out to check the tyre, the accused fired three rounds at him from behind. After the victim collapsed on the ground, they escaped from the spot,” a senior police officer said
The matter came to light when Mr Prakash called up one of his friends for help after which he was admitted to a Gurgaon hospital, where he is stated to be out of danger,” the police officer said.
The police said that the shooting appeared to be a case of personal enmity over a property dispute.
The police officer said, “It came to fore that mother of the victim has share in an ancestral property in Gurgaon’s Daulatabad village and because to this Mr Prakash had a property dispute with his uncle.”
Investigation has been taken up and efforts were on to identify the accused.
