BJP slams Kejriwal for costly petrol
New Delhi: Delhi BJP general secretary Ravinder Gupta on Tuesday said that it is unfortunate that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is playing dirty politics against the union government by not acting on the advice given by centre to all the states to reduce VAT on diesel-petrol by Rs 2.5 per litre.
Mr Gupta claimed that non-reduction of VAT by Delhi government is cau-sing great harm to the Delhhites.
“It is also regrettable that due to the obstinate attitude of Kejriwal government today the people of Delhi have to purchase petrol-diesel from the neighbouring cities like Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida because petrol-diesel is more costly in the national capital,” Mr Gupta added.
Mr Gupta mentioned that the revenue collection in Delhi and the funds allotment from central government is continuously increasing but Arvind Kejriwal government is neither concerned about the development work nor ready to provide any relief to the people.
“We challenge chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to come forward and talk on the issue of lack of development in Delhi in spite of funds allotment from the Central government.
BJP is of the view that the Kejriwal government is insensitive, it wants political power but completely incapable of discharging its responsibilities to the people,” he said.
Mr Gupta announced that Delhi BJP has decided to stage demonstration daily to compel Kejriwal government to reduce VAT on Petrol-Diesel by Rs 2.50 on the call given by the city BJP chief Manoj Tiwari.
According to Mr Gupta, on Monday, the Yuva Morcha workers staged demonstration near Delhi Press Club and today the Poorvanchal Morcha staged demonstration at the AAP office near ITO to draw the attention towards the demand for reduction in the VAT on Petrol-Diesel.
