Delhi: Doctor alleges sex harassment by hospital MS
New Delhi: A hospital’s medical superintendent has been accused of sexual harassment at the workplace. He allegedly outraged the modesty of a female chief medical officer (CMO) at Delhi’s Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital.
The police has identified the accused medical superintendent as Surendra Kumar.
The incident came to light on Friday when the complainant approached the police and lodged a complaint against Dr Kumar.
According to the complainant, the accused medical superintendent used to call her inside his room and initiated perverse conversations. He also used to touch her inappropriately.
The woman CMO further stated that she had warned the medical superintendent a number of times of dire consequences and had allegedly told him not to continue with the misconduct. However, the doctor didn’t pay any heed to her warnings and continued with his depraved ways.
Determined to teach him a lesson, the complainant decided to make a video of his act. The next time when he called her, the CMO videographed him and later informed the police.
Acting on the complaint, the Jehangirpuri police registered a case under Sections 354, 354 A, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and has launched a manhunt to arrest him.
During probe, the police learnt that the accused medical superintendent has been on the run since Friday afternoon. To catch the accused, the police has constituted four teams.
