PM Modi's poor presence in House: MP Sanjay Singh to file PIL

Takes inspiration from Mishra who filed plea against CM.

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said on Monday that he would file a petition in the Delhi high court seeking details of attendance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament.

Mr Singh’s move was prompted by a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Delhi high court filed by disgruntled AAP MLA and former minister Kapil Mishra earlier over “low attendance” of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly.

Mr Singh asked Mr Mishra why he had kept silent on the alleged obstructions by Mr Modi and L-G Anil Baijal in the implementation of various projects of the Delhi government, and questioned that if his opposition to Mr Kejriwal was “sponsored”.

“I am filing a case in the high court for getting Prime Minister Modi’s attendance details and ensure his presence in Parliament. Why does Mr Mishra keep mum on Modi who obstructs each and every work by Delhi government?” Mr Singh tweeted in Hindi.

In another tweet, he said “Despite an appeal by all the opposition parties, Narendra Modi does not attend Parliament. Mr Modi and the L-G only create hurdles in various schemes of the Delhi government, but Mr Mishra does not utter a word, is his protest too sponsored?”

Mr Mishra said he had filed the PIL in the Delhi high court seeking directions to Mr Kejriwal to attend the Assembly, mandatory 75 per cent attendance for all legislators and “no work, no pay” for MLAs, ministers and the chief minister having less than 50 per cent attendance.
