Delhi CM playing politics over gaushalas: Gupta

Mr Gupta claimed that Mr Kejriwal speaks about visiting Gaushalas in Haryana but is least aware of their conditions in Delhi.

New Delhi: Alleging that the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of playing politics over “Gaushala,” Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Saturday said that responsibility to look after Gaushalas is of the Delhi government and the problem cannot be tackled by simply visiting a shed as there are cows that are forced to roam and sit on roads, causing accidents.

Mr Gupta claimed that that he (Mr Kejriwal) has raised the issue of increasing the capacity of the existing Gaushalas and opening new ones in the capital a number of times but the Kejriwal government did not take any action in the matter and the problem of cows occupying the roads, creating filth and accidents persists and people of Delhi have to suffer.

“I will also raise the issue of stray cattle in different areas of Delhi in the Assembly. To make proper and adequate fodder available for cows in Gaushalas is the responsibility of the Kejriwal government, but the government on one hand does not release funds for it and on the other wants to avoid its own responsibility by passing on the blame to the municipal corporations,” Mr Gupta added.

Mr Gupta claimed that Mr Kejriwal speaks about visiting Gaushalas in Haryana but is least aware of their conditions in Delhi.

He also urged Mr Kejriwal to visit various parts of the capital to see roads occupied by the stray cattle. “Cows are forced to come on the streets as there is no space available in gaushalas,” he said.
