New Delhi: The Delhi police has registered a case of abetment to suicide against an unidentified youth after a 21-year-old BCom student allegedly ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in North Delhi’s Chandrawal area. The deceased, before ending her life, left a suicide note accusing her former boyfriend for driving her to take the extreme step.

The police said that the 21-year-old student has alleged that her former boyfriend had allegedly threatened to post their personal videos on social media if she refused to leave her family. Dejected over the same, when the girl approached the Model Town police, even the police didn’t take up the matter, she alleged in the suicide note.

Probe reveals that the woman mentioned that the duty staff at Model Town police station was equally responsible for her death.

The incident took place on April 8. According to a senior police official, a case of abatement to suicide has been registered against the accused, who hails from Patna, Bihar. The police said that teams have been sent out to nab him. The woman came to Delhi from Madhya Pradesh to pursue graduation from a private university and fell in love with the accused. The two lived in the same area and planned to get married. However, they broke up later. “Investigation has revealed that the two were in a relationship for three years,” a police officer said.

The woman’s suicide note reportedly mentioned how he allegedly threatened to leak some of their personal videos if she did not leave her parents and go to Patna with him.

When she refused and went back to her parents’ house, he kept stalking her and threatened to tarnish her image, added the police.
