FIR against site for false news on JEE

The Board had also issued a disclaimer on the same day against the rumours of questions being copied.

New Delhi: In a fresh case, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) filed another police complaint, on Thursday, regarding the allegations charged that some questions in JEE Main Exams 2018 were identical to the 2016 mock test of Narayana Coaching Academy.

Refuting the charges, the CBSE, in a statement on Thursday, said: “While it is established that the news about JEE (Main) 2018 questions being identical to 2016 mock test is completely baseless and circulated to damage the image of the board, CBSE has taken serious cognisance of the situation and filed a written complaint for lodging an FIR against the website owner of cisthetaglobal.com with the Delhi police.”

The Board had also issued a disclaimer on the same day against the rumours of questions being copied.

“The representative of this link has said on record that this material was received through WhatsApp and was uploaded on their website.

The website’s owner refused to take any responsibility of the material hosted on this link and informed CBSE that the facts of the content/images were not verified and as per their policy they are not responsible for the information uploaded on the website and that it was displayed as received.

“This argument is completely unacceptable to CBSE as this callous and irresponsible attitude of the owners has caused undue anxiety and doubt in the publics’ mind with regard to the credibility of CBSE and the JEE (Main) exam, which is also a gateway for admission to the IIT Advanced examination,” it said.

The spokesperson of Narayana Coaching Academy, however, has informed CBSE that the images displayed on the website are not of their coaching academy.
