New Delhi: In a shocking incident, an employee of a company was robbed of Rs 50,000 at gunpoint near an SBI (State Bank of India) branch at Anand Vihar on Friday evening. Three bike borne robbers fled with the bag after they threatened to shoot him. This is the second such incident in a week involving the same modus operandi.

On Friday, at around 2.30 pm, the victim, Sanjay Verma (36), a resident of Loni, was on a field job near Anand Vihar. He was carrying Rs 50,000 from his office to deposit the same in the bank.

As soon as he parked his motor cycle in front of the bank, two youths ran towards him, both carrying pistols in their hands. One of them pointed a pistol at the victim while the other snatched the bag from him. When he resisted, they pushed him and the victim fell on the ground. They also threatened to shoot him if he did not remain silent.

After snatching the bag, both of them rushed to their third partner, who was waiting for them on a motorcycle. Subsequently, they fled from the spot.

A similar incident of robbery at gunpoint took place, on Tuesday evening, when Vipin Gupta (30) and his wife Gitika (28), both residents of Pushpanjali Enclave, were taking a stroll. Around 9.30 pm, four bike borne robbers on two bikes obstructed their way. They robbed them at gunpoint and fled with gold jewellery, cash, and mobile phones.
