AAP favours black money hoarders: BJP
New Delhi: Reacting to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s allegation that the note ban move was a huge scam, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay has said that the scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes has “affected” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Mr Upadhyay has said that there are 30 chief ministers in the country but it is Mr Kejriwal who has taken upon himself the mettle to speak on every issue. While other chief ministers are concentrating on their state’s development, Mr Kejriwal concentrates on his political development.
“In his press conference, he spoke on Punjab election and on Punjab BJP workers. Repeated talk of Punjab election and visible desperation on his face indicates that his financial arrangements for elections have broken down. The truth is that Mr Kejriwal’s party had stacked hundreds of crores for Punjab and Goa elections,” alleged Mr Upadhyay.
Mr Upadhyay has said that it would have been better that Mr Kejriwal realises his administrative responsibility and instead of issuing irrelevant statements, he should concentrate to assure the citizens of that there is no shortage of any essential commodity in the country and they should stay away from rumours mongers.
“Allegations of Arvind Kejriwal are not taken seriously by anybody today because he does not owe any responsibility to people to offer any proof for probe of these allegations,” BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao added.
“Every allegation made (by Mr Kejriwal) today is completely baseless,” he said, adding Mr Kejriwal, who claims that he is against corruption and black money hoarders, has shifted to the “other side”.
“Mr Kejriwal is standing today with the black money hoarders,” he charged.
The Delhi chief minister is criticising a move which has largely been hailed as a “reform and a frontal attack on corruption and black money,” he added.
“Mr Arvind Kejriwal and his Aaam Aadmi Party also seem to have become a victim of the surgical strike (on corruption and black money,” Mr Rao said.
Mr Kejriwal had charged that the demonetisation move was a “huge scam”, alleging BJP had told all its “friends” about it much before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement.
