New Delhi: A missing man, allegedly abducted around four days ago from northwest Delhi’s Sultanpuri, was found murdered in Ghaziabad. High drama prevailed on Kanjhawal Road and the flow of traffic was allegedly disrupted after the grieving family members and friends of the deceased staged a protest against the police.

Rahul Saxenas body was found by the Ghaziabad police from a drain near Hindon Lake in Kavi Nagar on November 9 which was identified the next day, the police said.

The 27-year-old deceased, a resident of Krishna Vihar in Sultanpuri, was running an e-rickshaw showroom from three years in Kanjhawla and was residing in Buddh Vihar, Rohini, with his family.

Saxenas family had alleged that he was killed because of a long-standing property dispute, the police added.

Probe revealed that Rahul was missing since November 7 after he left the showroom with two other persons, namely Shalu and Vijendra. When the family tried to get in touch with him, his phone was switched off.

However, the family said that the deceased friend Sandeep received a message from one of the persons cellphone number on November 7 saying Rahul was going to Rohini sector 32 with two builders who happen to be his acquaintances. Saxena also informed him that he was not feeling safe with them, his family said.

Probe further reveals that following the message, Sandeep informed the family who then approached the Sultanpuri police station and apprised them about Rahul’s message.

They also told the police about the possibility of Rahul’s life in danger and requested the police to help the family. However, the family alleged that the cops didn’t show much interest.

Saxenas family claimed that after receiving the ransom call, they informed the police but they did not get a favourable response from their end.

They alleged that they had arranged Rs 10 lakh but did not get a call from the people who were holding Saxena captive.

The news of Rahul’s murder came to light on early Staurday morning when Ghaziabad police contacted the family.
