Police busts gang that robbed pizza delivery boys

Following a tip-off, Karan was apprehended and he disclosed that the gang had robbed the delivery boys.

New Delhi: With the arrest of three persons, the Delhi police has claimed to have busted a gang of robbers who used to target pizza delivery boys.

The trio were identified as Deepak (23), Chirag Sharma (23), and Karan Mahajan (19). With their arrest, four cases of robbery have been solved, said DCP (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal.

Two motorcycles, 10 mobile phones, five delivery bags, some cash and two ATM swiping machines were also recovered from them in addition to one automatic knife and SIM cards.

Following a tip-off, Karan was apprehended and he disclosed that the gang had robbed the delivery boys. On his instance, the other two were also arrested.

During interrogation they disclosed that they were addicted to smoking and hookah. To fulfil their financial need, they committed the crimes.

According to police, Deepak was arrested two months ago in a car robbery case and had recently come out of jail.

It came to light that the accused persons used to call pizza delivery boys at abandoned places. When the delivery boys approached the site, the accused robbed them on knifepoint.

Born and brought up in Amar Colony, the trio were well versed with the topography of the area that helped them sneak around.
