BJP, Congress lacking vision, leadership, says Gopal Rai
NEW DELHI: Terming the five-year rule of the AAP-led Delhi government an unprecedented success, senior AAP leader and city cabinet minister Gopal Rai said his party was going to sweep the Assembly election as both the Opposition parties — the BJP and the Congress — were lacking vision as well as state leadership.
Talking to The Asian Age, he claimed that his party would break its own record by winning more than 67 seats in the Assembly elections. The AAP had won 67 of the 70 seats in the last state elections.
Mr Rai said AAP will reach the masses with its work of five years while the Opposition is busy with their internal politics. “We have delivered beyond our capacity such as people are getting ‘zero’ electricity bill, free bus ride for women, better infrastructure for schools, and have improved conditions of hospitals. In 2015, we promised and in 2020, it's a reality. People will judge us by our work, we have done better job than any other government in India”.
When asked that their opponents are raising question over roping Prashant Kishor-led political consultancy firm I-PAC for the campaigning of AAP, Mr Rai said, “We do not take any fight lightly. People who are happy with our work can join us as this is a mission and all are welcome here to contribute and change the politics for good. In the case of Mr Kishore, he was quite overwhelmed with our work and he extended his support to us.”
Reacting to the student agitation, Mr Rai said, “Whatever happening with the students and inside the universities campus is highly condemnable.”
