Amanatullah Khan invites Arvind Kejriwal for iftar party

New Delhi: Suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan has invited chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as the chief guest at his Iftar party on Thursday.

Last month Mr Khan was suspended from the party after he accused senior AAP functionary Kumar Vishwas of hobnobbing with BJP and RSS. The two leaders are locked in an acrimonious relationship for quite some time now.

Mr Khan, AAP’s Okhla MLA, was suspended a day after the Delhi chief minister paid a visit to Mr Vishwas’s Ghazibad residence. His suspension was seen as an attempt to placate Mr Vishwas, who had then threatened to quit the party while demanding disciplinary action against Mr Khan.

“Why should there be any objection?” AAP spokesperson Ashutosh said, responding to Mr Khan’s invitation to Mr Kejriwal. He also denied allegations that there was a heated exchange at a party meet over the ongoing tussle between the AAP MLA and Mr Vishwas.
