L-G Anil Baijal meets home secy Rajiv Gauba to discuss situation
New Delhi: Delhi lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal on Wednesday met Union home secretary Rajiv Gauba to discuss the political situation in the national capital as Kejriwal and ministers stayed put at the waiting room of L-G secretariat over their demands since Monday evening.
Mr Baijal did not come to his office for the second consecutive day, sources said.
Mr Kejriwal alleged on Twitter that the BJP-led central government was using IAS officers as a “tool” to provoke “rebellion against an elected government”.
The AAP government’s demands to the L-G include giving directions to IAS officers to end their “strike”, action against those who have struck work for “four months”. It has also asked the L-G to approve the proposal for doorstep delivery of rations.
According to the AAP government, officers have not been attending meetings with the ministers and not picking up their calls due to which government work for people was suffering.
Officers have gone on a “partial strike” since the alleged assault on chief secretary Anshu Prakash on the intervening night of February 19-20, it said.
The L-G’s office has slammed Kejriwal’s sit-in, saying it was one more “dharna without reason.
