Delhi auto driver killed after iron rods on truck pierce through him
Delhi police said the tail lights of a 14-wheel truck ahead of the auto were not working.
New Delhi: A 40-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was killed early on Thursday after his vehicle rammed into a truck carrying iron rods pierced through his body, the police said.
A 14-wheel truck, whose tail lights were not on, was ahead of the auto-rickshaw. Naresh Kumar could not see the protruding rods and rammed into them, police said.
The rods pierced through the auto-rickshaw and his body, killing him on the spot, the police said. The accident occurred on the Nizamuddin Bridge around 4.30am. He was going towards Noida with a few passengers, who also suffered minor injuries, they said.
