New Delhi: From youngsters to elders, people of “Dil Vaali Dilli” celebrated the Valentine’s Day on Thursday despite it being a rain-drenched one in the national capital. The weather did not stop the lovebirds from celebrating the V-Day festivities in the city.

The celebrations took place with utter joy and enthusiasm among youngsters and the elders. While some youngsters planned to please their loved ones with special gifts, there were others who had planned to take their better halves out for either lunch or dinner.

Delhi witnessed love in the air as couples, families and group of friends were seen hanging out at malls, eateries and parks. Many celebrated the day by watching Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy that released on Thursday. While some couples chose parks and monuments like Lodhi Garden and The Garden of Five Sense.

“We wanted to be away from all the noise and Lodhi Garden simply offers captivating sunsets and tranquility, perfect for a romantic walk and some quality-time, said Aman (26) and Neha (25).

Saumya Singh (22), a DU student said: “I had desperately waited for the day as I surprised my boyfriend with a badminton kit. Though he had been saving bucks for quite some time to purchase it, I surprised him with the same kit today. His reaction was worth everything.”

But for 50-year-old Rohtash, it was a subtle evening with his 46-year-old wife Sapna. He surprised her with a sweet-scented bouquet of red roses along with some rich, inky and redolent wine.
