12-yr-old boy hit by school bus, killed
New Delhi: A minor boy was crushed to death and his friend sustained injuries after being hit by a school bus when they were playing on a footpath near Vivekananda Camp in New Delhi Chanakyapuri. The bus was attached to British School in Chanakyapuri.
The incident happened on Friday evening when the driver was parking the bus of a school near Vivekananda Camp.
According to the police, a 12-year-old boy, identified as Rahul, was killed and his friend Jagdish (10) sustained injured after the rear tyre of the school bus ran over them. Probe revealed that the incident took place at about 5.30 pm on Rijaal Marg in Chanakyapuri area. The police said that the driver of the bus failed to spot the children playing on a footpath near a wall. He was reversing the bus to park it near Vivekananda Camp when the incident took place.
Hearing loud shriek of Rahul, the locals gathered at the spot but the driver fled the spot.
The locals rushed the two children to a nearby hospital where Rahul was declared dead. while his friend, 10-year-old Jagdish, is currently undergoing treatment.
