New Delhi: Three motorcycle-borne men on Friday allegedly chased a sister and brother duo in Delhi in a bid to rob them. The miscreants allegedly kicked the vitims’ mototcycle, snatched the girl’s purse and sped away. When the student allegedly sought help on the busy road from two cops, they allegedly said that “such things keep happening” and left.

The incident took place on Friday night in Northeast Delhi’s Wazirabad Road near Brijpuri’s Victoria Public School.

The complainant was taking his married sister to her in-laws’ place in New Ashok Nagar on a motorcycle when the miscreants struck at them. He further alleged that the police at Gokulpuri police station registered a plaint of snatching but didn’t mention about his sister being injured after she fell from the motorcycle, which had been kicked by the miscreants, said the victim.

The horror began when the complainant was on his way and he realised that three men on bike were chasing them. Alerted by their intention, the brother sped up his motorcycle while his sister covered her neck as she was wearing a gold chain. The miscreants allegedly chased them and eventually managed to snatch away the purse from the girl before kicking the motorcycle, said the complainant. He further said that as a result of this, his sister fell from the motorcycle and sustained injuries.

“I tried to chase them but they managed to flee. Meanwhile, two cops on motorcycle were passing by. I sought help and told them what had unfolded. But rather than helping us, they gave us a cold shoulder and went away. After reaching home, I informed the police control room and subsequently went to the police station to register a complaint,” said the victim.

The police registered a case of snatching but didn’t mention about the chase and the woman being injured in the alleged incident. However, a case has been registered and probe has been initiated into the same.
