Delhi Traffic Police makes green corridor for transportation of heart to hospital
New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police on Saturday contributed in its own way in playing the saviour of human life by providing green corridor to an ambulance which was carrying a heart for transplantation to a hospital.
On October 14, a request was made to Delhi Traffic Police by the doctors at Fortis Escorts Hospital of New Friends Colony to provide green corridor to an ambulance carrying heart for transplantation which was to be flown in from Jaipur via a chartered flight.
The corridor from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) Airport to Fortis Escorts Hospital is considered one of the busiest stretches. Keeping in view the critical nature of the assignment, Delhi Traffic Police swiftly swung into action and alerted all its personnel deployed on the route.
The traffic police coordinated the efforts with the team of doctors of the hospital, who later expressed immense gratitude to the Traffic Police Unit.
