Rahul, Modi playing friendly match: Kejriwal
New Delhi: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi of being involved in a “friendly match” with the BJP and dared him to “expose” Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he has documents to establish that the BJP-ruled Centre’s demonetisation move has failed.
“If Rahul Gandhi actually has papers on Modiji’s personal involvement in corruption, then why doesn’t he expose it outside Parliament?” Mr Kejriwal said on Twitter. He was reacting to Congress vice-president’s remarks that he is not being allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha about “personal corruption” by Mr Modi. “Friendly match — BJP says they have AgustaWestland against Congress. Cong says they have Sahara/Birla against BJP. Both don’t disclose,” Mr Kejriwal said in a series of tweets.
On the demonetisation of large-value currency notes last month, the chief minister claimed the Delhi traders are miffed with the BJP. “The traders of the country are saying BJP will take money from us, vote from us and call us thieves? The real thief dines with the PM,” he tweeted. Senior AAP leader Ashish Khetan also took to Twitter to criticise Mr Gandhi. “If Rahul Gandhi is not allowed to speak inside the House, then he should speak outside and disclose the information he has about Modiji,” he said. Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar has rejected Mr Gandhi’s allegations terming it “false and baseless” and “very unfortunate”. “The allegation was made out of desperation and he (Gandhi) should apologise to the nation,” Mr Kumar told reporters. Mr Kejriwal’s he has been targeting the Prime Minister over serious graft charges pertaining to the latter’s tenure as Gujarat chief minister.
