New Delhi: Eating burger at a US-based famous fast food chain nearly cost a man his voice after a piece of plastic in the burger caused injury in his throat.

According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday when Rakesh Kumar stopped at a Burger King joint at Rajeev Chowk Metro Station and bought a cheese veggie burger. Unfortunately, when Kumar was eating the burger, he felt something hard sticking inside his throat.

According to the complainant, he started feeling nauseous after some time. He informed the shift manager and subsequently the police. Mr Kumar was taken to the Lady Hardinge Hospital for a medical examination, the police said.

A piece of plastic was found in the burger that caused injury to his pharynx. The police arrested the shift manager of the outlet. He was later granted bail.
