Moti Nagar murder: Wife, daughter of accused held

Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday met the family of the slain businessman.

New Delhi: Couple of days after Moti Nagar businessman Dhruv Raj Tyagi was stabbed to death after he confronted his neighbour for passing lewd comments at his daughter, two women members of the accused family were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly being involved in stabbing of the victim, said the police.

The man’s 19-year-old son, who tried to rescue the victim, was also stabbed and is in ICU. He is out of danger but is under observation for next 24 hours. A 45-year-old man and his 20-year-old son were arrested in connection with the killing on Tuesday. His two other sons, who are minors, have also been apprehended.

The wife and daughter of the accused, who were detained, have been arrested after a lengthy interrogation on Wednesday, Monika Bhardwaj, deputy commissioner of police (west) said.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday met the family of the slain businessman. They were accompanied by Union minister Vijay Goel, rebel Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kapil Mishra and JD(U) leader KC Tyagi.
