Delhi: Man murders wife over infidelity
New Delhi: Suspecting his wife’s fidelity, a man allegedly smothered his wife to death at their residence in Kotla Mubarakpur village on Friday. The accused husband has been arrested on Saturday from Noida.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Shabnam, wife of Taiyyab. She is survived by two children. Probe reveals that the accused Taiyyab had recently come from Saudi Arabia where he was working. Since his return, the couple was seen fighting often.
The police said that Taiyyab used to suspect that his wife Shabnam is involved with someone else and is being infidel in the relationship.
Since his return, Taiyyab used to pick-up quarrel over the same with Shabnam. On Friday too, the couple fought over the same issue. The matter went out of hand when one of the tenant’s approached the landlord of the building where Taiyyab and his family was living and complaint about the couple.
According to the landlord, identified as Anil, when he went to check on the couple to talk to them, he found the door of the flat ajar. As he checked further, he was shocked to see Shabnam lying dead on the bed. He immediately raised an alarm and informed the police who rushed to the spot along with FSL and sniffer squad and carried out a probe.
The police said that since the murder Taiyyab has been on the run. When the murder took place, the children were not at home and had gone to school.
