CCTVs installed at sensitive spots across Delhi
New Delhi: The Delhi police has identified sensitive areas under 44 police stations in terms of crimes against women and CCTV cameras installed in these areas as part of a crime-mapping survey.
Talking about the measures taken after the Delhi gangrape in 2012, deputy commisioner of police (South) Ishwar Singh said that the cases of molestation and outraging the modesty of a woman in South district had gone down by at least 30 per cent.
Patrolling teams and women officials were available at every police station to deal with women complainants on a one-to-one basis, he said.
Out of the 44 police stations identified as sensitive, nine are in South Delhi areas.
These include localities like Hauz Khas, Mehrauli, Sarojini Nagar, Safdarjung Enclave, FatehpurBeri, Vasunt Kunj North, Vasunt Kunj South, Neb Sarai and Malviya Nagar.
