Girl drugged, gangraped by landlord, aides
New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl was brutally gangraped by three men, including her landlord, who had drugged and abducted her while she was preparing dinner for her bed-ridden relatives at New Ashok Nagar area in East Delhi.
The men were arrested a day later on the basis of the statement and identification by the girl. The accused landlord and his two associates had locked up the girl in a room for more than five hours during which the men had raped her in turns.
Later, they had dumped the girl outside the relatives’ room and fled. The girl was spotted lying on a bench outside the room by her aunt who reported the matter to the police. She had to be admitted to a government hospital where doctors treated her with detoxifying medicines before cops could record her statement. The house in which the incident happened was rented by the girl’s relatives on December 11 as they were looking for a room on the ground floor for the convenience of the accident victims. “We had to arrange for something as my brother could not climb to the fourth floor room he earlier stayed in. My niece (the survivor) had offered to help them with the cooking and arrived from our home-town in Muzzafarpur on the same day,” said the girl’s aunt.
According to the survivor, the incident happened around 9.30 pm when she was cooking dinner for her uncle and aunt. The men had first gagged her and took her to a room. One of the men switched off the lights while the two others raped her. In the meantime, the girl’s cousin started looking for her in the locality. “I had first presumed that she had left home to buy groceries and lost her way back, since she was new to the city and was not aware of the surrounding. There was half-cooked food in the kitchen which made us suspicious,” said the cousin.
