25-yr-old man held for posing as doctor
New Delhi: A 25-year-old paramedic was arrested on Saturday at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for impersonating as a doctor and roaming in the ward, said the police.
The arrested accused was identified as Ashish Tripathi (25), resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. It was also found that he was having a diploma in operation theatre and manageme-nt from Nova Institute of Paramedical Science, Lucknow. According to the police, at about 11am on Saturday the man was found roaming in AIIMS ward wearing a white doctor coat. When the hospital guards asked him who he was and why was he roaming in the ward wearing the white coat. Upon inquiry, he stated that he is Seno resident (SR) of AIIMS but failed to produce valid documents to prove his identity.
During interrogation he disclosed that his wife is pregnant and to facilitate the entry in wards he wore white coat and got him identified as doctor of AIIMS. He used to give training to patients at AIIMS for dialysis. A case under section 419 of IPC for cheating by personation has been registered against him.
