CISF to hold international aviation meet
New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is going to organise an International Aviation Security Seminar with the objective to interact, share and discuss the emerging security challenges with national and international security experts on Octo-ber 9-10 at Vigyan Bhawan.
The CISF is celebrating its golden jubilee year in 2018-19. Over the last 49 years CISF has evolved as multi-skilled force providing integrated security cover to 344 critical infrastructure installations including 60 operational airports in the country.
The aviation security assumed greater significance due to the exponential growth in the aviation sector and the ever-present challenge of unlawful interference in the civil aviation and terrorism.
“The focus of the two-day seminar will be to bring the major stakeholders of the industry and the officials of various agencies involved in aviation security under one roof with a purpose of pooling in ideas, discuss procedures and measures that can further enhance security and increase the efficiency of organisations such as CISF, NSG, state police and other concern agencies and paramilitary forces that shoulder the responsibility to counter incidents such as hijacking etc.,” said the sources.
“The seminar will provide an opportunity to all the participants to learn form the expertise of eminent experts from all over the world. The inauguration ceremony of the seminar will be held on October 9 at the Plenary hall of Vigyan Bhawan,” said the condition of anonymity.
The sources said that union home minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony. Similarly union minister of civil Aviation will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony of the seminar on October 10.
Prominent personalities and speakers from various organisations of aviation sector will delivered lectures and share valuable views on the matter of aviation security. Weapons and equipment were also displayed showcasing the current weapons and systems used by the forces and cutting edge systems considered for future planning.
“Delegates and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security of India, CISF, State Police Forces, Airports, Airlines, Foreign Security /Aviation of USA, France, Germany and Sri Lanka are likely to participate in the Seminar,” said the sources.
