DSSSB performance shows a big dip
New Delhi: There has been a drastic decline in performance of DSSSB in conducting examinations. In 2014-15, DSSSB conducted 122 exams, which sharply declined to only 12 in 2016-17. It has also been noticed that DSSSB has not declared any result during the above period.
Sources said that Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is not performing to its full potential to fulfill the aspirations of the unemployed youths in the national capital. The poor performance of the board has affected the other departments, which are solely dependent on DSSSB for their human resource requirement.
The sources said that number of pending requests for conduct of examination were 231 in 2014-15 while in 2015-16 the pending requests were 257 and in 2016-17 pending requests were 245.
The sources further said that the data reflects 1017% decline in conduct of examinations and 123% increase in pending requests for the same.
“The system of conducting examination by the DSSSB needs revamp, including change in policy related to conduct of examinations. The reasons for the steady decline in the performance of the board needs to be examined and evaluated and further necessary corrective measures may be urgently initiated for speedy disposal of pending requests for conduct of examinations,” said a source.
DSSSB was set up in 1996 with an objective to make recruitment to various Group B (non-gazetted) and Group C posts under the government of Delhi, sector undertaking, local bodies like MCD and NDMC and various autonomous bodies under the government. The board commenced its function from July 1997.
The Board was restructured by the government of Delhi vide its resolution in 2008.
