Ajay Maken may join BJP after polls, says Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged people in Delhi “not to waste their vote on the Congress” and said he had information that Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken may join the BJP after the civic polls. While releasing the Aam Aadmi Party’s manifesto for the April 23 municipal polls, Mr Kejriwal said the Congress was “finished” in the national capital.
“Big Congress leaders are joining the BJP. I came to know that Ajay Maken has had talks with BJP’s national president Amit Shah and he may also join the BJP after the municipal polls,” the AAP leader said.
He also smirked and said that the voters should also not waste their votes on BJP too.
He asserted that one voted to power in the civic bodies, it will be easier for his government to complete projects such as regularisation of unauthorised colonies faster, which has been stuck for long.
He also alleged that his government had allocated several crores for laying down pipelines in the entire city, but the MCDs have hindered the work.
The election to East, North and South Municipal Corporations will be held on April 23. Among the major contenders, the AAP is the last to release its manifesto.
