Man stabs employer, hangs self in South Delhi

On Thursday night, Rohit entered her shop on the pretext of taking a bed sheet that her son had requisitioned.

New Delhi: In an alleged revenge case, a 22-year-old employee at an automobile spare parts shop first allegedly stabbed the lady owner and later hung self with the help of his mother’s saree in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar. According to police, the injured woman and owner of the spare parts shop in Govindpuri has been identified as Premlata Gaba (55).

The employee, Rohit, had been working for her for the last one and a half years. She said that he had not been coming to work for the last three days.

“On Thursday night, Rohit entered her shop on the pretext of taking a bed sheet that her son had requisitioned. Suddenly, without any provocation, he hit her with a kitchen knife and ran away. Later, he returned to his mother’s house in Sangam Vihar. His mother questioned his actions and in turn Rohit committed suicide,” an official said.by hanging himself from the ceiling fan with the aid of his mother’s saree,” said a police officer.

The police has registered a case under Sections 323 and 341 of the IPC at Govindpuri on the complaint of Ms Gaba. Inquest proceedings in the suicide of Rohit are being conducted at Sangam Vihar police station.
