Jain files defamation pleas against Kapil, Sirsa
New Delhi: Delhi minister Satyendra Jain on Friday filed a criminal defamation complaints against his former Cabinet colleague Kapil Mishra and newly-elected Rajouri Garden MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa in Tis Hazari court. The matter will be taken up by court here on May 29.
“On May 7, Mr Mishra made a blatantly false, misleading, baseless, and defamatory statement before the media that the complainant (Jain) handed over Rs 2 crore to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 5 at his residence,” Mr Jain said in his complaint before the court.
Mr Mishra went on to link him with some “fictitious deals,” Mr Jain said. He added that his former colleague is still making wild allegations and statements before the media, thereby creating apprehensions in the public mind regarding the functioning of Delhi government.
Mr Mishra was sacked from Mr Kejriwal’s city Cabinet on May 6. Mr Jain accused SAD leader Mr Sirsa of defaming him by organising a press conference and alleging that the minister was indulging in circulating huge amounts of illegitimate money within the AAP. He said that making a statement without any proof is unbecoming of an MLA.
