Retd govt employee duped by online firm

New Delhi: A retired employee of labour ministry was allegedly duped by a trading scheme company of Rs 12 lakh, recently. The Connaught Place police has taken up the case and has ordered an inquest into the same.

According to the plaint, the complainant identified as Raj Lal Bahagt, a resident of Mehrauli alleged that he learnt about a trading scheme regarding an investment on a news channel. Following the advertisement, Mr. Bhagat invested over Rs 12 lakh into the fraudulent company thinking that he would get a return. However, he received a rude shock, After investing a huge sum over a period of time, the company representatives allegedly misbehaved and refused to return him his money.

In his plaint, the complainant, he further charged that the scheme which had allucrative return in property investment had asked him to make the payments of Rs 12 lakh in three instalments. Mr. Bhagat made the instalments and waited for the return which was promised in terms of cheque. The scheme was allegedly valid for 12 months. The company had also paid the cheques to the victim and had supposedly stated that due to demonetisation the property market was hit and therefore the cheques given to him shouldn’t be deposited in the bank till, May 2017. When Mr Bhagat, deposited the cheques. However, the cheques bounced. When he approach the company , the spokesperson allegedly misbehaved with him. The Connaught Place police has registered a case against the company under section 420 of IPC.
