Cops bust fake job racket, one arrested
New Delhi: With the arrest of the mastermind of a fake job racket, the Delhi police has busted a gang involved in duping job aspirants. The arrested person has been identified as Sumit Kumar, 27, a resident of Haryana.
Police said M.K. Prabhat, undersecretary, Union ministry of women and child development (WCD), filed a complaint at Parliament Street police station about a website, www.wcdo.org.in, which allegedly raised funds in the name of Union WCD ministry.
He said that he noticed that the website even gave details about jobs for various posts and applicants were told pay the fee online to appear for a entrance examination.
The WCD ministry, when contacted, said it has not announced any such jobs. A case was lodged under Sections 419/420 of IPC and 66-D of IT Act and inspector K. Akhtar probed the case. The police, after analysing the website’s details, formed a special team to nab the accused. On Nov. 18, Mehta, the brains behind the racket, was arrested.
