Delhi: Neb Sarai man stabbed to death by neighbours

The deceased has been identified as Suraj (23), a resident of Sangam Vihar.

New Delhi: A man was stabbed to death by his neighbours when the deceased allegedly videographed the accused making obscene gestures in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area. The police said that the accused used to make such gestures while taking bath.

The deceased has been identified as Suraj (23), a resident of Sangam Vihar. He is survived by his parents, wife, two children, and two brothers. He worked as a ward boy in RR Hospital.

While the police has arrested accused Neeraj, his two brothers, Jeetu and Ankit, are on the run. In his statement to the police, Suraj’s brother, Bunty stated that Neeraj and his brothers used to take bath right in front of their house in the balcony. He further said that the two brothers used to go all nude and also make obscene gestures towards Suraj’s family members.

Despite asking him several times to not make obscene gestures, the accused didn’t listen. On Saturday, Suraj made a video while Neeraj again indulged in inappropriate actions. Later, Suraj circulated the video in the area.

The incident of the video came to light when on Saturday evening Neeraj and his mother, who were returning from the market, noticed Suraj showing the video to some boys. As they neared the group, they learnt that Suraj had videographed him.

At this, Neeraj and his mother reprimanded Suraj for videographing the former. Hearing the commotion, Suraj’s wife Tara came running to his rescue. By the time the couple could understand anything, Neeraj grabbed a knife from his house while his brothers, armed with pairs of scissors, charged an attack on Suraj and allegedly brutally stabbed him several times.

Bunty, who had also heard the commotion, rushed to the victim’s rescue and with the help of other neighbours rushed him to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he succumbed to his wounds. Police, who was alerted, visited the spot and carried out the probe. Upon reaching the spot, blood marks were found on the street.
