Assault deliberate, says police report

Cops further claimed that the meeting was held to clear over a dozen advertisements, which were in favour of the AAP government.

New Delhi: In a shocking epiphany in the alleged CS assault case, the Delhi police has mentioned in the chargesheet that the meeting, in which Anshu Prakash was thrashed, was not called for ration issue as claimed earlier by AAP.

The Delhi police chargesheet alleged that the assault on Delhi chief secretary was deliberate.

The police has also alleged that the wires of the rest of the CCTVs were “deliberately disconnected and tampered with,” said a Delhi police official on Monday.

The Delhi police has categorically stated that in the last one year, only one person out of the 24,000 people who met the CM in his Janta Darbar, complained about ration problem.

“CM says he daily holds Janta Darbar, where around 100 people come with their problems. The CM office also maintains a register of the problems of the people. But if we go through the register, only one person had complained about the ration problem,” said a Delhi police official on the condition of anonymity.

According to the CM, he used to call mid-night meetings. However, records show that no mid-night meeting was ever held at his house in the last three years. This was the only mid-night meeting which was ever held. The police has found the claim of the CM as fictitious.

Cops further claimed that the meeting was held to clear over a dozen advertisements, which were in favour of the AAP government.

A few other top bureaucrats were also threatened, but they were not willing to come forward with any complaint.

Only six cameras out of the 21 were working, but recording lines were detached. The police has emphasised that it was a deliberate attempt.
