Duo arrested for killing sister-in-law

New Delhi: Five days after a 16-year-old widow was stabbed to death, the police arrested two brothers-in-law who had fled from the spot after stabbing her multiple times.  Another brother-in-law, a juvenile, was apprehended on the day of the crime.

The accused were identified as Amit (19) and Anil (21). DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said, the deceased had married one year ago to one Ayush, the brother of the accused persons.

Ayush had allegedly committed suicide a few months back and the accused blamed her for his death. They told cops that their brother committed suicide because she left him when he was facing trouble on the work front.

On Monday evening, police received information about a woman being stabbed by three boys at her house in Tajpur Pahari in Badarpur area.

After killing the woman, the accused fled and ever since, were roaming around the city.

Amit and Anil were arrested from near Tughlakabad Metro Station on Friday and on their instance the juvenile was apprehended from South Extension on Saturday.

During sustained interrogation both accused disclosed that they were very upset with their brother’s suicide and even after Ayush’s death his wife didn’t return at her in-laws house. Alleged were very annoyed with this and they planned to kill their brother’s wife.
