House of top rail official burgled

New Delhi: A Northern Railway chief project manager’s house was burgled on Sunday at Railway Officers’ Colony in Tikendrajit Marg, Chanakyapuri. Several valuables, including electronic items, were found missing.

“On Sunday, I woke up at 3.30 am to go to the washroom. My wife told me that she had heard some noise and the drawing-room lights were on even though she had switched off everything before going to sleep. I rushed to the other side of my flat and I found that the back door was open and all the lights were switched on. Every room (except the master bedroom) had been ransacked. Things were strewn on the floor. The thieves had diligently searched the house for valuables,” said Amritanshu, the chief project manager at Freight Operations Information System (FOIS) of Northern Railway Division.

“Soon after the incident was reported to the police, we sent a crime team to inspect the scene. We have collected some evidences and will trace the culprits soon,” said a police official on the condition of anonymity.

A case against the unknown person has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at Chanakyapuri police station.
