Man, 33, thrashed by 2 for objecting to lewd remarks
New Delhi: A 33-year-old man was allegedly brutally beaten up by two men after he checked them for passing lewd comments on his wife. The police said that the incident took place in Uttam Nagar on last Sunday.
According to the complaint, Vikas Tyagi (33), a resident of Press Enclave, was getting a CNG refill for his car at the Vikaspuri CNG pump along with his wife when a group of men, travelling in a Santro, approached and stopped next to their car. The men allegedly began passing lewd remarks at his wife who was sitting next to the driver’s seat.
The couple decided to ignore the anti-social elements and left the petrol pump after refilling the gas. But the miscreants allegedly followed them. As they neared Beri Hospital in Southwest Delhi, the accused overtook Mr Tyagi and suddenly stopped their car. They reprimanded Mr Tyagi and asked him come out of his car. He checked them for their alleged misbehaviour, following which the two assaulted him.
The complaint added that the two men, after brutally thrashing Mr Tyagi, fled from the scene. The incident came to light when a passerby noticed the victim and his wife crying for help and informed the police. The team visited the spot and moved Mr Tyagi to a nearby hospital.
Based on Mr Tyagi’s complaint, the Uttam Nagar police has registered a case and are on the look out for the accused.
While the police has increased patrolling across the city, incidents of road rage, robbery and assault cases are increasing manifold in the national capital.
