The CCTV footage of the incident is circulating on social media.

New Delhi: An 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death when he tried to intervene and mollify the scuffle between two groups, who were fighting after their shoulders bumped into each other in Central Delhi’s Nabi Karim area on Sunday night.

The CCTV footage of the incident is circulating on social media. Once again, this shows the impetuous attitude of the people in the national capital as a minor bumping leads to death and that too of the person who was pacifying the situation.

The deceased has been identified as Yaseen while the injured was identified as Farman (15).

According to police, after having dinner Yaseen and Shadaab (17), both natives of the same village, were sitting on a luggage rickshaw outside the staircase of the ground floor. In the meantime, Danish (17) and Farman were getting down from the first floor of the building. Danish, who was behind Farman, was talking on his phone with someone. Meanwhile, one Mohammad Rizwan (29) and his friend Shenawaj (23) were climbing up the stairs.

An argument broke out between Danish and Rizwan in the middle of the stairs after their shoulders bumped into each other. Following this, all the four persons came downstairs and an argument ensued between the two parties again in the street.

In a bid to pacify the situation between the two parties, Yaseen intervened. During the process, Farman abused Shenawaj. Enraged over this, Shenawaj took out a knife and stabbed Yaseen. Subsequently, Danish ran behind Shenawaj. However, Farman caught hold of him, following which he forcefully stabbed him in his abdomen.

The two were rushed to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where Yaseen succumbed to his injury while Farman is undergoing treatment and is stated to be stable.

A case has been registered and Rizwan alias Raju and Shenawaj have been arrested.
