New Delhi: Around a dozen school children had a narrow escape on Friday morning when an electrical pole allegedly fell on top of their school bus, which had a live electric wire precariously hanging to it.

Locals who rushed to the spot safely evacuated all the children. The incident took place in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden around 8 am near the DDA red MIG flats. The school bus belonging to Maxfort School in Paschim Vihar was proceeding towards the school with over a dozens of primary school children on-board when the electrical wires snapped following which the electricity pole fell on the bus.

According to the locals and eyewitnesses, who gathered soon after the pole fell on the bus, the power supply to the pole was stopped immediately. The incident allegedly had taken place a few metres away from the school.

Soon, the school authorities were informed who rushed to the spot. The alert driver managed to kept the bus under control though he had lost balance, initially. The locals alleged the incident took place due to the negligence by the BSES.
