Delhi cops conduct raids to arrest key accused

A senior police official said that several police teams are conducting multiple raids to arrest the prime accused.

New Delhi: The Delhi police has failed to make any headway in the murder case of a 17-year-old girl in Najafgarh area on Thursday. A senior police official said that several police teams are conducting multiple raids to arrest the prime accused, Shubham (22), who had shot the victim in a parked Mercedes car outside her house on Tuesday late night. “We have conducted multiple raids at Shubham’s relatives’ houses in Bahadurgarh and other places in Delhi. His parents are also absconding after the murder. We have grilled four of his friends for questioning. They have been released already,” said a senior police official.

He added that the police is conducting raids on the basis of technical surveillance and inputs gathered after questioning Shubham’s relatives and friends. The victim’s body was handed over to her family after autopsy.

“We haven’t given clean chit to Yogesh and Nitin, who were also present at the spot when the victim was shot dead by Shubham inside the car. Their roles will be verified and cross examined,” the police official added.
